Welcome to Linda In HR

  • Hi! I'm Lindsey Simmons, I have over a decade of Talent Acquisition experience working with companies like Electric.ai, Etsy, Criteo and Birchbox.

As a recruiter, connecting people and opportunities is genuinely thrilling. My experience spans over 10 years, ranging from Series B startups, scaling through Unicorn status, to global, publicly traded companies.

I have successfully hired 400+ roles ranging from Individual Contributor to C-Suite roles across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Implementation, Operations, Policy, Sustainability, Finance, People, Trust & Safety, IT, Analytics, Data Science, Product and Security teams.

I have also coached early and mid-career individuals through their job searches and salary negotiations that have resulted in an additional 5k - 15k increases to their starting salaries.

Additionally, I have successfully built and implemented competency based interviewing processes, and driven Employee Resource Group programming that was described as, “cathartic, vulnerable and refreshing”.

Outside of work, I am passionate about LGBTQIA+ rights, reproductive healthcare rights and sexual health education. I enjoy volunteering with Gay Men's Health Crisis, performing stand up comedy, paddle boarding, practicing reiki, fly fishing, birding and field hunting with my German Shorthaired Pointer, Wendell.

  • Career Coaching

I support individuals in building their careers and self-confidence through sharing my insights from my 10+ year career as a recruiter.

In my coaching program I deliver 1:1 support crafting resumes & cover letters, navigating job search platforms, creating your target company list, tailored outreach and introductions, interview preparation, and how to navigate offer negotiations.

    Recruitment Consulting

I craft streamlined, inclusive, competency based recruitment processes that deliver successful hiring outcomes for Individual Contributor to C-Suite roles across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Implementation, Operations, Policy, Sustainability, Finance, People, Trust & Safety, IT, Analytics, Data Science, Product and Security teams.

Clifton Strengths Top 5 says I build strong relationships that hold a team together and make things happen through:

Positivity I have contagious enthusiasm, am upbeat and get others excited about what they are going to do

Individualization I am intrigued with the unique qualities of each person. I have a gift for figuring out how different people can work together productively

Adaptability I tend to go with the flow. I tend to be a “now” person who takes things as they come and who discovers the future one day at a time

Developing I recognize and cultivate the potential in others. I spot the signs of each small improvement and derive satisfaction from evidence of progress

Arranging I can organize, but I have flexibility that compliments this ability. I like to determine how all of the pieces and resources can be arranged for maximum productivity.

16 Personalities says I’m an Architect, “People with the INTJ personality type (Architects) are intellectually curious individuals with a deep-seated thirst for knowledge. INTJs tend to value creative ingenuity, straightforward rationality, and self-improvement. They consistently work toward enhancing intellectual abilities and are often driven by an intense desire to master any and every topic that piques their interest.”

  • When I was waiting tables in my early 20's a customer wrote on their bill 'Linda was great!' As I was closing out at the end of the night, my boss asked, “who’s Linda?”

I explained she is me and he immediately nicknamed my alter ego, Linda. She is the most fun person, up for anything and lives for a good time. You know she’s arrived because she speaks in the most excitable high pitched tone and my Shenandoah Valley accent shows up like I never left.

As I’ve come home to myself, Lindsey and Linda are one in the same. If you’ve worked in restaurants, you know those friendships are forged in fire, and as we all moved into corporate life, we love to laugh that Linda ended up with a career in HR, thus LindaInHR was born.
